Double Eruption on Sun & CME's - Large Coronal Hole - Chance of Geomagnetic Storms on Nov. 19th
A large coronal hole (35) continues to move into a better position and will become geoeffective beginning November 21st. Aurora sky watchers at higher latitudes should remain alert however as enhanced activity will still be possible. A pair of eruptions took place from behind the east limb early Saturday morning. STEREO Ahead imagery shows the eruptions took place in the vicinity of old region 2605. A couple of faint coronal mass ejections are visible in the latest coronagraph imagery and will obviously be directed away from our planet. This region is still about 3 days away from turning back into view off the limb. http://www.solarham.net/ CHANCE OF MINOR STORMS ON NOV. 19TH: A minor solar wind stream is expected to buffet Earth's magnetic field on Nov. 19th. This could cause geomagnetic activity and auroras around the Arctic Circle. http://spaceweather.com/ Clip, images credit: NASA/SDO, STEREO AHEAD &solarham
