Solar Wind Sparks Auroral Displays
Earth is now fully inside a stream of solar wind flowing from a large coronal hole on the sun. The buffeting action of the stream is causing intermittent auroras around the Arctic Circle.
The stream of solar wind powering these auroras is broad, and it could take Earth two or three days to cross it. Arctic observers should be alert for more lights on Dec.9th and 10th. http://www.spaceweather.com/
Solar Wind and Aurora The solar wind continues above 600 km/s and is contributing to beautiful aurora around the Arctic Circle.
Enhanced geomagnetic activity will remain possible during the next 24 hours while a high speed solar wind stream continues to be geoeffective. http://www.solarham.net/
