Near-Earth Asteroid Set to Pass Within Earth-Moon System
Asteroid 2017 AG13 was first observed by Catalina Sky Survey on 2017-01-07.
The newly discovered asteroid will fly safely by Earth on 2017-01-09 at 1247 UTC.
It is going to pass by Earth as close as 0.5 times the distance to the Moon, (130,138 miles or 209,437 km) at a speed (relative to the Earth) of 15.8 km/s. It is estimated to be 15 - 35 meters in size.
