Venus-directed CME
A strong Solar eruption detected on the far side of the sun on June 17th. The eruption hurled a cloud of plasma (CME) into space. NASA's STEREO Ahead COR2 recorded the plasma cloud heading towards Venus.
Because Venus has no global magnetic field to protect it from CME's, the impact was likely strip a small amount of atmosphere from the planet's cloudtops.
